This is how I walked around the house for the first months of our child’s life and mostly in a robe since I nurse Juliette. I must say when my husband JP told me to come here, I did not think his next words would be I think there’s something in crawling in your hair. After a few moments of him picking through my hair, he told me it was nothing just a piece of lint.
JP then said, in his kindest voice “Babe, when was the last time you washed your hair?” I honestly couldn’t remember. JP told me to go handle that and I’ll watch Juliette. I was reluctant at first, but I knew I needed this.
I started to ask myself when was the last time I took the time to give myself love and care that I truly needed. Let’s see, I hadn’t shave the hair on my legs since the 2nd trimester and now it’s beyond the 4th trimester. I hadn’t shaved my armpits since a week before Juliette was born. I would normally wash my hair weekly before getting low maintenance hairstyles such as braids, but who’s counting now (perhaps I should go back to braids).
(Here’s the products that I used: BIC® Soleil® Original Disposable Razor, Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner, Dove Deodorant for Sensitive Skin, Avenno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Yogurt Body Wash/Apricot and Honey, Active Naturals Positively Smooth Shave Gel, Govanni 2Chic BlackBerry Hair Serum, it’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product, and Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil, Coconut Face Oil and Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks)
I took full advantage of the time I had on my hands for self care. I washed my hair and took care of everything that I’ve neglected for far too long. My shower was even a bit longer. Normally, I would rush through it to get back to our baby, but not this hour. It was for me and afterwards I felt so much better.
Whenever, JP hears me turn on the hair blow dryer he comes in to tackle the job. It’s a wonderful feeling to know he’s love to help me look and feel my best.
Once it was dry I flat ironed my hair. In all this may have taken me 1 hour and 30 minutes. I felt so refreshed after a little self care. I urge you to take sometime for yourself. You will be glad you did!
Self care is key! Glad your hubby was able to help!
I’m glad he was too. Thanks for reading!
