Happy Monday! This week on our social media I will be sharing some of my favorite moments of being a Mom so far on my Motherhood voyage. Being a Mom has been one of life’s greatest joys for me. It’s funny because, when Johnathan and I tied the knot on March 25, 2017 I told him I wanted to wait about 3 years before having children so we could enjoy one another as a married couple. His response: “Haven’t you enjoyed enough of us time while we dating! I’m ready to start a family. I’ve always wanted to be a Dad.”Continue reading “How We Planned For Our Baby: My Voyage To Motherhood”
I’m excited to have the opportunity to review the Coast Rider Stroller. If you’ve seen Juliette’s walker or playpen guess what it’s from Dream On Me. The Coast Rider Stroller is an awesome choice for parents on the go and can be used beginning at 6 months of age.Continue reading “Review: Dream On Me – Coast Rider Stroller”
After seeing the Dékor Hands-Free Diaper Pail at Gearapalooza in Nashville, TN I’ve been dreaming of owning one. So when I received the opportunity to test it out I was immediately over the moon! Did you know that parents and caretakers will change 6,000-9,000 diapers before their child is potty trained?Continue reading
Thanks for watching!
We received the Swaddle UP 50/50 Transition Bag from Love To Dream. These are my own thoughts based off my experience using the Swaddle UP 50/50 Transition Bag.
We’ve used many swaddles since Juliette came home from the hospital. She had a startle reflex like no other. We wanted to provide her the comfort of being wrapped in our arms however, while sleeping in her crib that would be impossible. Her safety is our priority. We like to use the ABC’s of Safe Sleep.Continue reading
We never would’ve imagined that our daughter’s skin would be sensitive. Within her first two weeks of Juliette begin to have a diaper rash. We changed her diapers constantly and we tried of various baby wipes since we had a variety of brands from our baby shower. None of them worked for Juliette’s skin. We ended up using around 12-15 wash cloths with a bowl of warm water to be a gentle as possible during her diaper changes.Continue reading
Ever feel overwhelmed with bringing the baby out on a date night? Now, that we’ve been married for two years and have our Juliette date nights are now turning into family night out. A few months ago I surprised Johnathan with tickets to see the Nashville Symphony perform the music of QUEEN for our 2nd wedding Anniversary. He was very excited and this was the perfect event since we knew this year we would be celebrating with our daughter in tow.Continue reading
Everyone who knows me already know I love concerts. The first concert I attended was non other than Ms. Patti LaBelle at 5 years old. I can remember seeing Patti kick off her high heel shoes, get on her knees and roll around singing. That was back when R&B music was real and made sense. I grew up listening to artist like Earth, Wind & Fire, Debarge, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrell, Diana Ross, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, The Gap Band and countless others that I adore. I knew I would bring Juliette to shows with me at an early age.Continue reading
This is how I walked around the house for the first months of our child’s life and mostly in a robe since I nurse Juliette. I must say when my husband JP told me to come here, I did not think his next words would be I think there’s something in crawling in your hair. After a few moments of him picking through my hair, he told me it was nothing just a piece of lint.
JP then said, in his kindest voice “Babe, when was the last time you washed your hair?” I honestly couldn’t remember. JP told me to go handle that and I’ll watch Juliette. I was reluctant at first, but I knew I needed this.
I started to ask myself when was the last time I took the time to give myself love and care that I truly needed. Let’s see, I hadn’t shave the hair on my legs since the 2nd trimester and now it’s beyond the 4th trimester. I hadn’t shaved my armpits since a week before Juliette was born. I would normally wash my hair weekly before getting low maintenance hairstyles such as braids, but who’s counting now (perhaps I should go back to braids).
(Here’s the products that I used: BIC® Soleil® Original Disposable Razor, Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner, Dove Deodorant for Sensitive Skin, Avenno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Yogurt Body Wash/Apricot and Honey, Active Naturals Positively Smooth Shave Gel, Govanni 2Chic BlackBerry Hair Serum, it’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Product, and Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil, Coconut Face Oil and Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks)
I took full advantage of the time I had on my hands for self care. I washed my hair and took care of everything that I’ve neglected for far too long. My shower was even a bit longer. Normally, I would rush through it to get back to our baby, but not this hour. It was for me and afterwards I felt so much better.
Whenever, JP hears me turn on the hair blow dryer he comes in to tackle the job. It’s a wonderful feeling to know he’s love to help me look and feel my best.
Once it was dry I flat ironed my hair. In all this may have taken me 1 hour and 30 minutes. I felt so refreshed after a little self care. I urge you to take sometime for yourself. You will be glad you did!
