Have you heard the news? There’s So Much Christmas at Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN. School is out for winter break and we knew it was the perfect time for our family to celebrate the holiday season together. If you’re looking for holiday fun that’s perfect for the young and young at heart, Gaylord Opryland is the perfect destination for you to make some wonderful memories! We were hosted by Gaylord Opryland, thoughts are my own. Keep reading to check out some of the fun we had on our family Christmas staycation.
We spent by countless hours playing and having first time experiences with Juliette and Jesse. Many activities are located at Pinetop Village but you’ll find So Much Christmas throughout the resort!
ICE! Featuring Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer™
ICE! is back and this year was our families first time experiencing ICE! Before waltzing inside, we had to prepare ourselves for the 9 Degrees Fahrenheit awaiting us inside. We stopped by the restroom and layered up with long johns, sweaters, tube socks, hats and gloves. Then we were ready! Soon as we entered we were hit with the crisp cold air and beautiful colored ice, carved by expert artisans. There’s two million pounds of ice throughout the winter wonderland. The ice slides are not to be missed. Juliette was brave enough to test it out and love it. It was pretty cool (literally!) to see the story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with larger-than-life sculptures.

Ice Tubing
This activity was Jesse’s FAVORITE! He couldn’t get enough of climbing up the15-foot-high hill to slide down with me. Riders must be a minimum of 42 inches tall to ride alone. We did it over and over and finally I had to regretfully tell him no more, because it was closing time. It’s four-lane ice tubing hill perfect for racing with family and friends. Ice Tubing tickets are all day with unlimited rides.

Snowball Build & Blast
Who doesn’t like throwing snow balls? There’s multiple holes where you can aim to blast the snowballs you build. This was Juliette’s FAVORITE! She was very motivated to throw her best arm. This one our whole family got a little competitive and showing our different techniques.
Gingerbread Decorating Corner
You know decorating a house is hard work. However, decorating a Gingerbread House is pretty tasty! We got into a flow full of creativity and teamwork. Nutmeg welcomed us and gave his stamp of approval and posed for a photo!

Ice Skating & Celebration on Ice Live Skating Show
Gaylord Opryland’s 9,000 square-foot outdoor skating rink is made with real ice. Juliette and I made it out as the sun was beginning to set. It was so beautiful and it was a first time experience for her! We used a Skate Buddy for her to sit on. This helped her become comfortable with the ice as we gliding around singing, “Jingle Bells”. I believe next year she’ll have the confidence to glide with the Skate Buddy. For the Celebration on Ice Live Skating Show, Opryland has brought in some of the most talented and champion ice skaters from around the world. This 20 minute free show is filled with big leaps, fast spins throws and lifts!

Reindeer Games™ Scavenger Hunt featuring Rudolph and The Misfit Toys
The Misfit Toys are all lost! Juliette and Jesse was determined to help them find their way to their new homes. This resort-wide scavenger hunt can take a while. I suggest grabbing some snacks from Delta Necessities or lunch at Paisano’s Pizzaria & Vino. You can’t think on a empty stomach. Once we fueled up, we used Rudolph’s clues to find the Misfit Toys. After our scavenger hunt booklet was complete we turned it in for a prize!

There’s over 17 hours over Christmas fun at Gaylord Opryland! JP and I will cherish these precious moments creating memories together during our favorite time of the year.
