There’s a host of family-friendly pirates and princesses events galore like, The Shiny Stash Scavenger Hunt, Treasure Trove Art Studio, Pirates & Princesses Academy, Lost Treasure Flatboat Voyage, Royal Carriage Rides, The Captain’s Hidden Treasure Escape Room, SoundWaves and more. We were hosted during our stay and got a chance to check out all the fun!

It’s important for our children to see themselves when they read books. For me, growing up I didn’t see images of characters that resembled me. However, that’s not the case anymore. My children get to grow up reading books with beautiful black kids in the stories. By the way, if your looking for a black owned book store to support check out Alkebu-Lan Images located in Nashville, TN near Tennessee State University. You can also shop their store online. Here’s a few books we’re reading by Black Authors this Black History Month and honestly all year long.

It’s only a 1 hour drive from Nashville, TN making it the perfect spot for a getaway that has so many things for Johnathan and I to do together!
